Indian travelers are planning their journeys with greater intention and purpose in 2025, according to the American Express 2025 Global Travel Trends Report. The report highlights the growing importance of unique experiences, supporting local businesses, and leveraging technology to maximize travel value.

Indian travelers are prioritizing unique experiences and meaningful purchases in 2025. About 92 per cent of Indians look for one-of-a-kind goods to remember their trips, while 84 per cent emphasize supporting local small businesses. High-quality local products are a priority for 81 per cent, and 50 per cent are planning international travel specifically for luxury purchases. Some notable statistics highlight the growing demand for unique experiences:

**Events and Sporting Events**
Events are also driving travel decisions in 2025. According to the report, 58 per cent of Indians plan trips around concerts or shows, and 68 per cent plan trips around sporting events, particularly cricket and football. These events often become major attractions, drawing travelers from across the country. For example, the Indian Premier League cricket tournament has become a highly anticipated event, with fans traveling from different parts of the country to cheer for their favorite teams. **Maximizing Travel Value**
Tech continues to shape travel behavior, with Indians using technology to maximize travel value. About 79 per cent download travel apps, and nearly half book entire trips via smartphones. Indians are also using reward points for travel, with 79 per cent using them, and 84 per cent combining credit card rewards with other loyalty programs.

When selecting a destination, Indians prioritize finding places that match their interests and budget. Indians also use technology to find the right destination, with 48 per cent booking all aspects of their trips on their smartphone or tablets.
